Abstract

Alaattin Parlakkilic, Yildirim Karslioglu

The development of multimedia e-learning content has been labor intensive process, requiring a team of web designers and developers responsible for the technical development of these resources, thereby limiting its widespread adoption. Recent advances in technology have made delivering multimedia content easy. Building a rapid development environment suitable for medical training is challenging. However, now it is possible for instructors to develop multimedia content and to publish on the web with minimal technical skills and assistance with rapid multimedia development as in Rapid eLearning Authoring and Development. This paper presents how to produce and use video based multimedia instruction materials into a rapid e-learning course by pruning storyboarding step in ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Rapid multimedia content development method needs less effort than traditional e-learning course development. Thus it is possible to develop high quality, and educationally effective materials in short time.
